  1. Hi Mr. Brooks,
You were my art teacher at Harris all three years of middle school and before that my older brother’s and later my younger brother’s. You imparted a love of the arts to all your students and genuinely enjoyed what you did. I still remember you were the only teacher that wore Converse. I thought that was so cool. Although years later when I became a production artist I bumped into you at a co-workers gathering, you said to call you Rick, I just cant’ seem to do it. You will always be Mr. Brooks the kind art teacher that brought the world of art into mine. I happened to come across a book signing event online and was happy to see you continue to create great artistic work. I wasn’t able to attend the signing, but just wanted to share that this year I am happy to begin an art teaching positing at an academy K-8. My hope is that I will continue your good work by inspiring students to create and guide them to find the endless possibilities the arts bring into our lives just as you did for me.
